Correct vs. Incorrect Adhesive Plate Placement for Flat or Flush Vision Panel
When adhesive plates are applied to doors they should be pressed into place firmly and onto a completely flat surface. All of the adhesive should make contact with the door and not overlap the interior frame that holds the glass in.
Correct placement: When applied properly, the steel plates should sit flat. If these steel adhesive plates are put into place with good pressure on a flat clean surface they will stay put indefinitely.
Incorrect placement: This photo depicts improperly applied adhesive plates. The plates shown are installed over the seam of the frame which in some cases can work but is not the best placement. If needed, remove the shutter and realign so the steel plates can sit correctly.

Solution #1 –Oversized adhesive plates can be applied with half or more of the plate extending into the glass area if necessary. (screws are supplied to secure it if less than half of the plate is contacting the door surface)
Solution #2 – Spacers & Standard Plate
Spacers can be used on the glass to fill in the recess that will accept our standard size adhesive plates. Cut three to four spacers the width of the glass. Stack spacers together and use clear double face tape to apply the stacked spacers to the glass (to make surface flush with door) When spacers are stacked and surface is flush with door, a standard sized adhesive plate can be added to engage the top shutter magnet.
